We believe that the Scriptures teach that the Church’s great commission includes teaching the whole counsel of God. We find this great commission in Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus said to the apostles, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Our approach to fulfilling the Great Commission includes expository preaching during our Lord’s Day morning services, classes for all ages in our Sabbath School hour, and systematic theology studies on the Lord’s Day evening.
We believe that the Scriptures teach that preaching is the primary means through which the Holy Spirit convinces and converts sinners and builds believers up in holiness and comfort, through faith, unto salvation. We began an expository preaching series in the Gospel of John in September of 2009, and we expect to finish the series in 2012.
