Christian Education

We believe that the Scriptures teach that the Church’s great commission includes teaching the whole counsel of God.  We find this great commission in Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus said to the apostles:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NKJV)

Our approach to fulfilling the Great Commission includes expository preaching during our Lord’s Day services and classes for adults and children of all ages in our Christian Education hour following the morning service.

Preaching: We believe that the Scriptures teach that preaching is the primary means through which the Holy Spirit convinces and converts sinners and builds believers up in holiness and comfort, through faith, unto salvation. The preaching typically consists of verse-by-verse exposition through entire books of the Bible. The preaching aims to convince, convict, convert, and comfort sinners and saints through the explanation, application, and exhortation of the Word of God.

Christian Education Classes: The adult classes typically consist of either theological teaching by our pastor or sermon discussions led by our pastor, elders, or men training for the eldership. We begin our classes in September and end them in May.  We take a break during the summer to give the teachers a time of rest.
